Elias's mom visiting

Elias had invited his mom to come visit him in Patong. We asked if she could bring some Swedish candies and when she asked us what we wanted, we spent quite some time looking on the internet for candy she needed to bring. She must have been walking around the candy store with a shopping list as long as the toilet paper roll, haha.
When she arrived she had about 2-3 kilos of mixed candy, not to share, but to each of us. There was all the goodies I can think of, everything we ordered and plenty more... hahaha, good stuff.
The Whiskey guy that had a restaurant on the corner where we lived, had invited for dinner one evening when he saw that Elias's mom had arrived. He was by the way called the Whiskey guy because he would offered us whiskey in the middle of the night when coming home from the bars, just to make sure we were happy, haha.
We had been to the place several times and had different kinds of food, but tonight he was going to serve something special. Elias had been here with Lek, one of the girls from the A1 restaurant, she had ordered goy baknao moo sai kum (I learned to say that) which was chopped pork meat with a little lime and chili, raw pork meat that is!
We told him we wanted that and he nodded and he started chopping away. A few minutes later he put a plate of meat on the table with a raw egg over it. We are all sitting looking at each other, it didn't exactly look like what Lek ordered the other day. We had told Elias's mom she would be trying raw pork meat, she wasn't too thrilled when she saw this plate though.
We sat there for a few minutes wondering who was going to take the first bite, when the Whiskey guy came and started making this hot pot soup where the meat went into. Pheeeew, saved our asses and stomachs, haha. Really good food, and super cheap too.
No Patong without Bangla, so we took Elias's mom out a few times too and we even tried to serve her some of the bar snacks available in Thailand. She wasn't too impressed of the grasshoppers though, even though they are healthier than potato chips - the best selling argument we could come up with.
Elias's mom was leaving in the middle of the night to the airport, so we thought there wasn't any good reason to go to sleep before that and ordered her in a Tuk Tuk with her bags packed and we ended up in Bangla Rd. There she was walking around the bars with tears in her eyes because she was soon leaving, just like everyone else who ever visits Thailand!
Nice to meet you Mrs Dufwall Jansson
